RECaP's Steve Gray wins the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources (CANR) Alumni Association's Graduate Scholarship. This award is given to students who demonstrate a commitment to leadership and community service, are effective communicators, and are dedicated to their chosen field of study. In addition, the CANR Alumni Association selects students that are well-rounded in their academic and non-academic pursuits and have a clear vision for their future career. Congratulations Steve!

Charlie Booher has been selected as a 2018 Demmer Scholar. Students in the Michigan State University William A. Demmer Scholars Program are paid interns at federal agencies or non-governmental organizations that focus on natural resources. Charlie will take a senior-level class in natural resources policy that meets one night a week and all-day Saturday. The program is led by Mark Rey, executive in residence in the MSU Center for Systems Integration and Sustainability in the Department of Fisheries and Wildlife.
In RECaP, we are so very pleased to celebrate Clara Lepard's marvelous accomplishment of being selected as a 2018 Rhodes Scholar. This incredibly prestigious scholarship will support Clara for an advanced degree at Oxford University. There, Clara will extend her research on the Snares to Wares Initiative. We could not be more proud of the incredible honor that Clara has earned.
Jacalyn Beck has won the Vera M. Wallach Scholarship in Wildlife Conservation. In addition to being a prestigious prize, the monetary component of this scholarship will support Jacalyn's research addressing the factors associated with carnivore depredation of livestock in the Maasai Steppe of Northern Tanzania.
Congratulations to Arthur Muneza for his award of the Glassen Conservation Fellowship. This prestigious prize will enable Arthur to continue his research assessing the impact of Giraffe Skin Disease on giraffe populations throughout East Africa. Excellent work Arthur!

Recent M.S. graduate Arthur Muneza is the new East African Coordinator of the Giraffe Conservation Foundation. Furthermore, Arthur continues his contribution to RECaP as a Ph.D. student in the lab. Arthur's Ph.D. research is being generously supported by the Leiden Conservation Foundation and will address issues affecting the conservation of giraffes in the East African region. Congratulations to Arthur as the first Leiden Conservation Foundation Graduate Research Fellow in RECaP.
